Cortney Gerard Criswell is a lifelong Floridian. After high school, he attended Florida State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor Degree from the Florida State University College of law. While in Law School Mr. Criswell was a Senator in the Florida State University Student Government, the 1L representative in the Student Bar Association, as well a member of a number of other student organization.
Mr. Criswell became an attorney because he has always had a strong desire to help those in need. He began using his legal skills to act on that desire while still in law school. While a student he interned at the Florida State University Child Advocacy Clinic where he gained valuable experience representing indigent children throughout the state of Florida. Prior to joining the Property advocates Mr. Criswell worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the State of Florida 20th Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant Regional Counsel in the State of Florida 10th Judicial circuit. In these position’s Mr. Criswell gained valuable trial experience representing indigent Floridians accused of crimes, and parents in dependency court. Mr. Criswell has tried multiple jury and bench trials. He combines his professional experience and his desire to help people every day in his representation of his client at the Property Advocates.
In his spare time Cortney enjoys cheering for all things having to do with FSU athletics, working out, and cooking. He is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United States Federal Court in the Southern District of Florida.
