Bio

Mrs. Padilla was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated high school one year early and went on to attend New York University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English, with a specialization in writing, and a minor in Education. During her undergraduate studies, she was an intern at the N.Y.S. Attorney General’s Office where she assisted the attorneys with trial preparation, legal research and writing – all pre-law school. Mrs. Padilla knew since high school that she wanted to practice law; the internship at the Attorney General’s office only solidified her desire to become an attorney. She graduated cum laude from N.Y.U. and was awarded the prestigious award of Founder’s Day Honor’s Scholar. Mrs. Padilla went on to attend Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she earned her J.D. along with several scholarships.

Mrs. Padilla has extensive legal experience having worked in many jurisdictions and practiced in many areas of the law. She started out her legal career with Legal Services for New York advocating for clients seeking Social Security Benefits. Following that, for 15 years, she worked for judges of the New York City Civil Court where she assisted the judges in every aspect of their roles: drafting decisions on motions, drafting post-trial orders, case negotiations and resolutions and even as an interpreter. The duties of her military spouse led her to Tennessee where she managed hundreds of cases for the Legal Aid Society, representing victims of domestic violence. Family ties then brought her to Florida where she again worked for the judiciary as a Staff Attorney in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court. Mrs. Padilla then went on to the world of personal injury representing injured parties against insurance companies of at-fault parties. Following that, she continued to represent clients with their personal injury claims and simultaneously, represented individuals filing for bankruptcy.

With the Property Advocates, she brings all of her experience and continues to fight against insurance companies on behalf of homeowners in need of restoring their homes after suffering damages from events out of their control. Being bi-lingual allows her to proudly serve members of the Spanish community. Mrs. Padilla is admitted to the Florida Bar and the New York Bar.

On her leisure time, Mrs. Padilla loves to spend time with her husband, son, three dogs and their cat. Camping at the beach is tops on her list. She is also an avid Harry Potter fan.
